Butchery Packer (part-time)


Role Details The day to day duties of a Butchery Packer include picking and packing meat to a high standard, ready for distribution to customers, in accordance with safety legislation. Some responsibilities of the role include: * To package all meat in accordance with the company specification guidelines * To ensure that all fridges, preparation rooms and freezers are kept as clean and tidy as possible * Have a comprehensive knowledge of all the companies’ products * Adhere to companies’ personal hygiene policy * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, managers, suppliers and any visitors * Operate packing machine in a safe and professional manner, as per the manufacturer’s instructions * Report any machine maintenance problems immediately to the supervisor * Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility * Operate labelling machine to print off labels for all the products * Understand the important of best before dates * Be aware of any products falling below the required standard, and reject these products as necessary * Load products into large trays safely without damage to the products * Operate the metal detector machine in a safe and professional manner, as per the manufacturer’s instructions The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be keen to learn new skills and have a desire to make a difference.
